Florida Department of Education to Hold Media Briefing Regarding Florida's Growth Model for NCLB
Florida proposal advances as one of eight states for final review
The Florida Department of Education will hold a media briefing today by conference call to discuss Florida's proposal to pilot a "growth model" for Adequate Yearly Progress under No Child Left Behind. The proposal was submitted in February to the U. S. Department of Education and is now among eight states to be reviewed for final selection. Participating in the call will be:
- Florida Education Commissioner John L. Winn
- Deputy Commissioner of Articulation, Research and Measurement Hanna Skandera
- Office of Evaluation and Reporting Senior Educational Program Director Christy Hovanetz-Lassila
The conference call will be held:
