FACTS.ORG to Host ePEP Regional Trainings
Trainings familiarize students, educators and parents about online course planner
TALLAHASSEE FACTS.org, Florida's online student advising system, will host regional trainings March 15 - April 6 statewide about the ePersonal Education Planner (ePEP). Open to high school guidance counselors, mentors, parents and students, the workshop will explain the ePEP, an online tool that allows students to choose their own educational and vocational goals and then to map out the high school courses that will help them reach those goals.
"The ePEP tool takes the confusion out of planning for the future and empowers students to take charge of their high school career," said Education Commissioner John L. Winn. "Students will wisely invest their time and energy in the right direction and feel confident about achieving their goals."
The ePEP service empowers students to be proactive in planning courses for each year of high school, based on the student's goals after graduation, such as admission to a four-year college, going to two-year degree program at a community college, attending a vocational or technical center, registering for military service or entering the workforce. Guidance counselors view students' online planners and provide recommendations based on their plans.
Provided free to the public by the Florida Department of Education, these services help students better prepare for postsecondary education and the workforce in ways that are likely to increase their success and future earnings. To learn more click on the scrolling banner at www.FACTS.org
