SUS Access and Diversity Team to meet Thursday at UCF
TALLAHASSEE – The State University System’s Interinstitutional Access and Diversity Team will meet Thursday, February 9, at the University of Central Florida to continue its work on ways to increase access and enrich diversity at Florida’s 11 public universities.
The meeting will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. EST at the Rosen College of Hospitality Management, 9907 Universal Boulevard, Orlando. An agenda is attached.
Several members of Governor Jeb Bush’s Access and Diversity Commission may participate in the discussions.
The SUS team of university professionals was established at the request of the Board of Governors to provide information and support as the board’s Student Affairs Committee and the Governor’s commission work to improve access and diversity in Florida higher education.
Governor Bush created the 17-member Access and Diversity Commission to work with the Board of Governors on issues surrounding minority enrollment and to advocate for financial-aid enhancements and other enrollment initiatives proposed by the Governor. For more on the Governor’s proposals, see Governor Bush Announces Access and Diversity Initiative.
Sheila McDevitt of the Board of Governors serves as chair of both the Governor’s Commission on Access and Diversity and the Student Affairs Committee.
