Department of Education to Award Winner of High School Planner Contest
TALLAHASSEE The Florida Department of Education tomorrow will award the winner of the FACTS.org High School Planner Contest. Senator Mike Fasano will present Sarah Siroky, a ninth grade student at J.W. Mitchell High School in New Port Richey, with an IBM ThinkPad® T42 Express laptop and ThinkPad® Backpack at a morning assembly at her school.
FACTS.org is the state's online student advising system, now offering students the e-Personal Education Planner to assist them in planning courses for all four years of high school.
Additional speakers at tomorrow's event will include: Connie Graunke, Executive Director of FACTS.org, Superintendent Heather Fiorentino of Pasco County Schools, and Principal Ric Mellin of J.W. Mitchell High School.
