Just Read, Florida! Celebrates Hazardous Weather Awareness Week

Just Read, Florida! will have a reading event in conjunction with Hazardous Weather Awareness Week and Newspapers in Education on Thursday in Tampa.

The schedule for tomorrow's events includes:

10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
Press Conference and Media Availability with the Federal Alliance for Safe Homes (FLASH) and the Florida Highway Patrol
Hillsborough County Emergency Operations Center
2711 E. Hanna Avenue
Tampa

11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Tours of emergency response and command vehicles by students
Sheehy Elementary School
6402 N. 40th Street
Tampa.

1:00 - 2:00 p.m.
Sheehy Elementary School
Third Grade Book Read with Dr. Joyce Haines, General Director of Elementary Education for Hillsborough County Schools; Ben Nelson, State Meteorologist with the Division of Emergency Management; Leslie Chapman-Henderson, President and CEO of FLASH; Col. Christopher Knight, Director of the Florida Highway Patrol; Daniel Noah and Shawn Bennett, Meteorologists with the National Weather Service in Tampa Bay; Diane Dawson with First Florida Insurance, a subsidiary of St. Paul Travelers Insurance; and Carolyn Vega, Director of Special Projects for Just Read, Florida!
