Just Read, Florida! Celebrates Hazardous Weather Awareness Week
Community College Chancellor David Armstrong will be participating in a Just Read, Florida! reading event in conjunction with Hazardous Weather Awareness Week and Newspapers in Education on Tuesday at Apalachee Elementary School in Tallahassee.
The schedule for tomorrow's events includes:
8:15 - 9:45 a.m.
Emergency Vehicle Tours
Apalachee Elementary School
650 Trojan Trail
Tallahassee
Chancellor Armstrong will be reading to first grade students at:
11:00 a.m.
In addition, Cassanova Nurse with WTXL, Jim Bolden with the National Weather
Service, Ben Nelson with the Division of Emergency Management, Bill Montford,
Superintendent of Leon County Schools, and Mary Laura Openshaw, Director of
Just Read, Florida! will also read to students at:
1:00-1:45 p.m.
Media Availability will immediately follow book reading in the school's media
center at:
1:50 - 2:10 p.m.
