Governor Bush Appoints Donna G. Callaway to the State Board of Education
TALLAHASSEE Governor Jeb Bush today announced the appointment of Donna G. Callaway to succeed Dr. William L. Proctor on the State Board of Education for a term beginning November 10, 2004 and ending December 31, 2005.
Callaway began her career in education in 1961 as a high school English teacher. For more than 40 years, she has served in numerous educational positions including assistant principal, principal and trustee for the Tallahassee Community College Board of Trustees. In addition, Callaway was named teacher of the year in 1985 while at Belle Vue Middle School.
She received her undergraduate degree in English education in 1961, Master's degree in library and information studies in 1985, and her Advanced Master's degree in reading and administration in 1988, all from Florida State University.
