Incoming Education Commissioner to Welcome Teachers to Reading Coach Conference

LAKE BUENA VISTA - Incoming Education Commissioner John Winn will welcome teachers at a luncheon at the second annual Just Read, Florida! Coaching for Success Conference in Lake Buena Vista on Wednesday.

The conference will train teachers in the five essential components of reading (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension) and offer separate sessions for elementary and secondary coaches in using technology in reading instruction. Just Read, Florida! will provide more than 900 trained reading coaches for Florida's schools this year, serving 15,321 teachers and 560,851 students.
