Florida Gulf Coast University Without Power, Phone and Internet
Students can return to campus Friday pending return of power
In the wake of Hurricane Charley, Florida Gulf Coast University is currently without power, phone and internet service. The hurricane's eye passed 30 miles north of Florida Gulf Coast University, leaving the Ft. Myers campus without power, phone, or internet service. Electrical Service is expected to be restored within the next few days.
No injuries were sustained due to the storm, and no extensive damage was done to the campus itself, however surrounding areas are inundated with downed trees and power lines.
Students will be able to return to campus on Friday, August 20th pending restoration of power.
