Education Commissioner Jim Horne to Hold Brownbag Lunch With Reporters During Visit to D.C.
TALLAHASSEE Education Commissioner Jim Horne will hold a brownbag lunch discussion with reporters during his visit to Washington, D.C. this week. Horne will be attending the Milken Educators Conference, where he will speak on a panel regarding teacher quality issues. He will also attend meetings of the Education Leaders Council, where he serves as chairman of the board and the Council of 100. Topics of discussion during the brownbag lunch will include results of the 3rd and 12th grade Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT), Florida's experience in its first year of ending social promotion, and an update on the education budget and legislation passed during this year's legislative session.
The brownbag lunch with reporters will take place at:
