Presidents of Historically Black Colleges and Universities to Hold Telephone Press Conference Call From Scripps Research Institute
Group to discuss opportunities for collaboration between HBCU and Scripps Florida during visit to Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla
LA JOLLA The Presidents of Florida's Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) - Florida A&M University, Florida Memorial College, Bethune-Cookman College, and Edward Waters College - will visit the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla on Monday.
They will be joined by Scripps Florida Funding Corporation Board Member Ruben King-Shaw, as well as provosts, academic vice presidents, and deans and professors from schools engaged in biotechnology research at HBCU. The group will discuss how HBCU might partner with Scripps on research capabilities and human resource development, among other things.
Following several meetings and a tour of the campus, the group will hold a telephone press conference call at:
1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Pacific (4:00 - 5:00 p.m. EST)
