U.S. Deputy Secretary of Education Hickok Will Be Joined by Commissioner of Education Horne and Community Colleges Chancellor Armstrong for School Visits
Discussions to take place on No Child Left Behind and the Jobs for the 21st
Century initiative
TALLAHASSEE U.S. Deputy Secretary of Education Gene Hickok will be joined by Commissioner Jim Horne and Miami-Dade Public School officials to visit Sylvania Heights Elementary school in Miami on February 25.
Sylvania Heights Elementary school has shown significant improvement under Governor Bush's A+ Plan and went from a 'C' in 2001 to an 'A' in 2002 and 2003.
Following the visit, Deputy Secretary Hickok and Commissioner Horne will be joined by Community Colleges Chancellor David Armstrong and other school district officials at Miami Dade College's Medical Center for a roundtable discussion and a demonstration of the Human Patient Simulator.
