Department of Education and Other Agencies Host First Ever Black History Month Family Day
TALLAHASSEE Education Commissioner Jim Horne will be joined by Department of Health, Agency for Health Care Administration, Department of Community Affairs, The Florida Lottery and Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles Division of Drivers' Licenses to celebrate Black History Month at the Department of Education.
Among the activities available Saturday are tours of the Department's Black History Exhibit, a book fair, health screenings, information on disaster preparedness and hurricane readiness, The Florida Lottery and Florida Housing Finance program for families.
There will be computer terminals available for guests to visit the Governor's Black History Month Web page and participate in other interactive activities. Guests will be able to log on the Commissioner's Task Force on African American History Web site and review the daily "Black History Fact."
The event will take place at:
10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
