Universal Prekindergarten Education Advisory Council Meeting
The Universal Prekindergarten Education Advisory Council will meet on October 15, 2003, in Tampa, Florida, at the Tampa International Airport Marriott (Grand Ballroom East). The meeting will begin at 10:00 AM and end no later than 3:00 PM.
The Council, established by the State Board of Education and chaired by Lt. Governor Toni Jennings, will make recommendations for the universal prekindergarten education program required by Constitutional amendment, including expected outcomes, curriculum and assessment standards, program delivery and design, coordination with existing school readiness programs, best practices, and cost estimates.
October 15 is the final meeting of the Council and will include continued discussion of state and local governance of the universal prekindergarten education program, as well as review of the Council's recommendations and report which will be submitted to the State Board of Education
