Education Commissioner Jim Horne to Visit Dillard High School
After School Visit Horne will Read to Children at Urban League's Learning Center at the Myers Public Housing Community

FT. LAUDERDALE — Education Commissioner Jim Horne today will visit Dillard High School. A former 'F' school, Dillard improved to a 'D' in 2003. Horne will tour the "New Emerging Technology" building at Dillard and visit the school's remediation program.

After his visit to Dillard, Horne will travel to the Urban League's computer-based learning center at the Myers Public Housing Community. He will read an excerpt from Crossing Jordan to children in the center's after school program. Crossing Jordan, a moving, coming-of-age story of cross-cultural friendship in a small working-class town written by a Tallahassee author, was selected to represent Florida at the National Book Fair in Washington, D.C. this weekend.
