Education Commissioner Jim Horne to Tour Miami-Dade Community College's Emerging Technology Center of the Americas in Honor of Hispanic Heritage Month

MIAMI — Education Commissioner Jim Horne will tour Miami-Dade Community College's Emerging Technology Center of the Americas in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. The center, which opened last year, is as high-tech training and educational institution in downtown Miami. The center was founded to help meet the growing need for technically skilled workers in Miami, the "gateway to the Americas." Horne will also visit an ESL (English as a Second Language) class, the Honors College at Miami-Dade, and the New World School of the Arts.
