Universal Prekindergarten Education Advisory Council Meeting
The Universal Prekindergarten Education Advisory Council will meet on September 17, 2003, in Tampa, Florida, at the University of South Florida, Sun Dome, Green and Gold Room. The meeting will begin at 9:30 AM and end no later than 3:30 PM.
The Council, established by the State Board of Education and chaired by Lt. Governor Toni Jennings, will make recommendations for the universal prekindergarten education program required by Constitutional amendment, including expected outcomes, curriculum and assessment standards, program delivery and design, coordination with existing school readiness programs, best practices, and cost estimates.
At the September 17 meeting, the Council will address universal prekindergarten delivery design and administrative structure. It will also hear updates on required audits of the school readiness program by the Office of Program Policy Analysis and Government Accountability (OPPAGA) and the Auditor General. There will be an opportunity for public comment.
