Universal Prekindergarten Education Advisory Council Meeting
The Universal Prekindergarten Education Advisory Council will meet on September 10, 2003, in Room 412 Knott Building, 111 St. Augustine Street, Tallahassee, Florida. The meeting will begin at 9:30 AM and end no later than 3:30 PM.
The Council, established by the State Board of Education and chaired by Lt. Governor Toni Jennings, will make recommendations for the universal prekindergarten education program required by Constitutional amendment, including expected outcomes, curriculum and assessment standards, program delivery and design, coordination with existing school readiness programs, best practices, and cost estimates.
At the September 10 meeting, the Council will take action on program standards and continue its discussion of costs and resources. The agenda includes presentations on school readiness services and funding and public school kindergarten program allocations and expenditures. There will be an opportunity for public comment during the afternoon session.
