Governor Bush to Announce Early Release of 3rd and 12th Grade FCAT Results to School Districts
Education Commissioner Horne to Outline Options for
Low-Performing Students and their Parents
TALLAHASSEE Governor Jeb Bush and Commissioner of Education Jim Horne will announce the release of individual 3rd and 12th grade Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) results to districts at a press conference to be held in Tallahassee on Monday, May 5, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. The press conference will be held in room 1721-25 of the Turlington Building located at 325 W. Gaines Street.
Early reports of scores for third graders in reading and for twelfth graders will be announced. This is not intended to be a full announcement of the FCAT scores, but a service to parents of children who may be retained or may not graduate because they did not meet the minimum required levels of achievement. All remaining scores and statewide data will be released in the near future, as it becomes available.
Special check-in arrangements have been made to accommodate members of the media on the first floor lobby of the Turlington Building. Members of the media are encouraged to contact the DOE press office to confirm their intent to attend. Limited parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis for members of the media.
Satellite trucks
Parking spaces specially marked with a red hood over the meter will be available
behind the Turlington Building on St. Francis Street or in front of the building
on Bronough Street. Permits are required and can be obtained during check-in.
Car Parking
Parking is available in Lot 50 directly across the street from the Turlington
Building. Numbered spaces 816-822 and 831, 833, 835, 837, and 839 are located
on Level 6 (the top level). Metered parking is also available on the top level
of Lot E located near the R.A. Gray Building on Bronough Street.
