Florida Department of Education releases online facilities data for school districts

TALLAHASSEE — The Florida Department of Education today has made available on its Web site the Florida Inventory of School Houses. The online information provides school district reports on updated facilities data as of Jan. 16, in a first step for providing data to the Governor and Legislature for implementing the class size reduction constitutional amendment.

The reports provide each school district's total number of instructional spaces designed for classrooms for both permanent and relocatable structures. The Department will test the validity of the updated facilities data in nine school districts in January and February through on-site reviews. In February, school districts will report all students by classroom assignment.
