School Code Revision Workgroup to Meet

The School Code Revision Workgroup will meet 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, August 22 at Erwin Technical Center, 2010 East Hillsborough Ave., Room 210, Tampa, Florida.

The workgroup consists of state education staff members, legislative staff, and representatives of external groups of practitioners, parents, and others who have an interest in the education of students and families.

The workgroup participants are evaluating the school code section by section to assess how best to revise it to reflect the guiding principles of the new seamless, student-centered K-20 education governance structure in Florida.

The workgroup discussions will be presented to the Florida Board of Education for consideration. The Florida Board of Education must present the 2002 Florida Legislature with recommendations for revising the school code.
