Florida Board of Education to Hold Budget Workshop

The Florida Board of Education (FBOE) will participate in a budget workshop led by FBOE Budget Director Larry Wood on Monday, August 13, 2001. The workshop will provide an overview of the education budgeting process. Topics for discussion, at the request of FBOE members, include but are not limited to:

  • Strategic Planning
  • Measurements
  • Separation of powers in the budgeting process: legislative, executive, judicial
  • The budget process timeline
  • Sources of funding
  • A discussion of the revenue forecast for the next fiscal year
  • Methodology of funding of each education delivery system
  • Last year's budget/comparisons with previous year's budgets
