1999-2000 Student VOC/LEP/Dropout Information

1. Record Type: I05 - Items 1-52 are valid for interdistrict and Bright Futures record transfer.
    S05 - Items 1-25, and 52 are valid for transcripts and Bright Futures record transfer.
2. Transfer one record per student.
3. Send the 4 latest Vocational programs the student has completed or in which the student is participating.
4. The presence of LOW-VALUES in data fields causes significant problems for several institutions in the receipt of student records. Please use some other appropriate character (e.g., SPACES) with which to initialize your records before sending them.
5. Required fields are indicated by an asterisk (*) next to the field name.
6. A new code, N, was added to the valid values for Dropout Prevention Juvenile Justice Placement Reasons, items 43, 46, and 49.

Use the abbreviated title as listed in the Course Code Directory, which is associated with the vocational program in which the student is enrolled.

9 59-59 1 A Vocational Termination Code

USED ONLY FOR STUDENTS ENROLLED IN VOCATIONAL EDUCATION CLASSES. The vocational termination code indicates the status of the student at the end of the class. The class must have ended prior to reporting the termination code.

Code Definition
C A job preparatory occupational COMPLETER who has finished a planned sequence of courses or competencies designed to meet a vocational occupational objective and who has met all the requirements of the institution for occupational completion. A student who completes a single course in such a sequence should not be reported as a completer.
S A secondary job preparatory occupational COMPLETER STILL IN SECONDARY SCHOOL.
F A supplemental occupational FINISHER who has received all of the instruction for which enrolled.
L A LEAVER WITH MARKETABLE SKILLS prior to job preparatory occupation completion as determined by the instructor.
H A secondary job preparatory occupational LEAVER WITH MARKETABLE SKILLS STILL IN SECONDARY SCHOOL.
R A student REMAINING in the job preparatory occupational instruction.

  • Is an American Indian or Alaskan Native and comes from a home in which a language other than English has had a significant impact on his or her level of English language proficiency; and
  • Who as a result of the above has sufficient difficulty speaking, reading, writing, or understanding the English language to deny him or her the opportunity to learn successfully in classrooms in which the language of instruction is English.
