2009-2010 Student Information

1.	Record Type:	I01 -	Items 1-39a, 44, 50-55, and 58-69 are valid for interdistrict and Bright Futures records transfer.
		S01 -	Items 1-12, 16-17, 19d-19h, 21, 23-30, 33-35, 37-55, 57, 58-69 are valid for transcripts and Bright Futures record transfer.
		T01 -	Items 1-12, 16, 21-22, 33-35, 45-46, 55, 70-71 are valid for Technical Center transcript transfer.

2.	Transfer one record per student.
3.	The presence of LOW-VALUES in data fields causes significant problems for several institutions in the receipt of student records. A transaction will be rejected if non-displayable characters are sent in the data unless found in Filler Reserved for Local Use. Please use some other appropriate character (e.g., SPACES) with which to initialize your records before sending them.
4.	Required fields are indicated by an asterisk (*) next to the field name.
5.	Special characters, tilde (~), caret (^), and grave accent (`), are used as delimiters in the translation of FASTER to SPEEDE/ExPRESS. They are reserved symbols and as such cannot be included in data sent through FASTER to a SPEEDE/ExPRESS institution.
6.	The Withdrawal Date can be a date in the future only when it is before September 1st of the upcoming school year.
7.	New Ethnicity/Race Codes are required for students currently in school, beginning with the 2009-2010 school year. For the 2009-2010 school year, the old race codes are also required. See fields #10a-10e identified with asterisk (**).
8.	New Ethnicity/Race Codes are not required for students who left the school district or graduated prior to the 2009-2010 school year. For these students, the old race codes are still required.
9.	The Community Service Hours field, item #57, has been expanded from 3 to 4 characters to accomodate hours greater than 999 and has been relocated to item #72.
10.	The Physical Education Waiver (KG-8 Student) field, item #73, has been added to this format to indicate whether the student's physical education requirement has been waived for the school year.
11.	Valid Withdrawal Codes, item #37, have been delineated for codes W01-W27. Some codes within this range are no longer valid. The range for valid Adult Withdrawal Codes is now W28-W53.
12.	Wording for the Certificate of Completion Code descriptions has changed. The new codes of W53 "Adult College Placement Test" has been added.
13.	Migrant Status Term codes have changed. Status code "3" was replaced by "D". "E" has been added, while the description for "S" has changed.
14.	The Multiple Birth Student field has been added to this format. This field indicates whether the student is a twin, triplet, etc. Valid values are "Y", "N", and "Z".
15.	Correction to the filler length, column 20.
16.	The Military Family Student field has been added to this format. This field indicates whether or not the student is a child of a military family as per s. 1000.36, F.S. . Valid values are "Y", "N", and "Z".
17.	Wording for the Migrant Birth State description has changed to clarify the description of the field and correct the link to the state codes for Mexico, Canada and South America.
18.	Corrected the link to the list of valid Withdrawal Codes for the Withdrawal Code field.
19.	Corrected the link to the list of valid Country Codes for the Country of Birth field and added verbiage indicating the field is required for migrant students (attenders) and migrant non-attenders.
20.	Changed the verbiage for the Birth Place field, added links for country and U.S. state codes, and removed the link to 'Attachment 3-State Codes'.
21.	Changed the verbiage for the Parent/Guardian Name(1) and Parent/Guardian Name(2) fields to expand upon the explanation of the format for reporting these fields for Migrant Students and Migrant Non-attenders.
22.	Changed both the name and the verbiage for the Parent/Guardian Name(1), (2) and (3) fields and the Parent/Guardian Code(1), (2) and (3) fields to expand upon the explanation of the format for reporting these fields for all students. While this clarifies the formats needed for reporting, no edits are applied to these fields. The field name "Parent/Guardian Name (1)" is now changed to "Female Parent/Guardian Name". The field name "Parent/Guardian Name (2)" is now changed to "Male Parent/Guardian Name". The field name "Parent/Guardian Name (3)" is now changed to "Parent/Guardian Name ". Likewise, The field name "Parent/Guardian Code (1)" is now changed to "Female Parent/Guardian Code". The field name "Parent/Guardian Code (2)" is now changed to "Male Parent/Guardian Code". The field name "Parent/Guardian Code (3)" is now changed to "Parent/Guardian Code".
23.	Added two new codes for the newly renamed field Parent/Guardian Code field to include M for "Male" Parent/Guardian and "F" for "Female" Parent/Guardian. These new codes are necessary to comply with requirements imposed by MSIX. They are intended for, but not limited to, Migrant Students and Migrant Non-attenders.
24.	Corrected and expanded verbiage for Migrant Birth State (field #15) and Country of Birth (field #52) to further clarify the valid combinations of country and state codes when reporting migrant students.

Grade Point Average State, Cumulative

The numeric value of the student's cumulative grade point average calculated on an unweighted 4.0 scale, if different from the Grade Point Average District Cumulative. The Grade Point Average State, Cumulative is used to determine if the student has met the state high school graduation requirements of a minimum of 24 credits and a 1.5 GPA based on a 4.0 scale. See Section 1003.43, F.S., for general requirements for high school graduation.

This grade point average will be calculated as specified in Section 1003.437, F.S., by assigning quality points of "A" = 4, "B" = 3, "C" = 2, "D" = 1, "F" = 0, "Incomplete" = 0 to the letter grades displayed on the automated permanent record ("+" and "-" signs will be ignored).
