Updates to the 2004-2005 Version of FASTER

This document lists the updates that have been made to the FASTER system since the release of the manual.

As of Jan 25, 2005 -

A new SAT test is in effect as of March 2005 with Critical Reading, Math and Writing (new) subtests. The Writing component will have two parts: Essay and Multiple Choice.

Test code SA3 has been added for the new SAT for Interdistrict and Secondary transcripts. Subtest codes have been added for the new writing subtests:

ES = SAT Essay

MU = SAT Multiple Choice

WK = SAT Writing (Combined ES and MU)

An ACT optional writing subtest will be offered to students February 2005. A new subtest code has been added:

WX = ACT Writing Subtest

As of Jan 28, 2005 -

Added new test type SAT3 to P06 postsecondary Student Test format for new SAT test, with Critical Reading, Math, Writing, Essay and Multiple Choice score fields.

Added Writing score fields to the ACT (after 06/89) table, test type PAC.

As of Feb 08, 2005 -

Added new subtest code 76 (Critical Reading) on PSAT test to I/S08 Student Test record attachment 2 (Test Subject Content Codes) and appendix R Edits.

As of Feb 16, 2005 -

Added new subtest code EG (Combined English/Writing) on ACT test to I/S08 Student Test record attachment 2 (Test Subject Content Codes) and appendix R Edits.

Added Combined English/Writing score field to the ACT (after 06/89) table, test type PAC and appendix R Edits.

Added new parm value for SRTS12IS/CC/AS/P transcript print programs. The index line parm can now contain a value of 'B' to cause the optical imaging line to print on a separate page.

As of Mar 30, 2005 -

Added new column to Participant Status report and file to indicate whether or not SPEEDE institution accepts electronic transcripts.

Column heading is ACCEPT TS146 on Participant Status Report.

(TS146 is transaction code for SPEEDE transcript requests. When a FASTER school requests a transcript from a SPEEDE institution, the request is converted to a TS146 and forwarded to the institution's mailbox on the SPEEDE server. Many institutions accept only SPEEDE transcripts, not requests - possibly because a fee must be paid at time of request.)

As of Apr 14, 2005 -

Made corrections to campus code list of FASTER institutions in appx C. Bolded campus codes which should be used in addressing FASTER files to these institutions.

As of Apr 25, 2005 -

-Test Names SAT and SA1 are invalid for testdates on or after 3/01/2005. SAT tests taken after this date must be coded with testname SA3. (Appendix R Edits)

-Added new codes to FCAT NRT subjects (T8,Attachment 2):

TW - NRT READING LITERARY

TX - NRT READING INFORMATIONAL

TY - NRT READING FUNCTIONAL

TZ - NRT MATH NUMBER SENSE AND OPERATIONS (GRADE 9-10)

As of May 10, 2005 -

-Made changes to FCAT NRT Math subjects (T8,Attachment 2):

T5 - NRT MATH Operations (Grades 3-8)

T6 - NRT MATH Patterns, Relationships and Algebra

T7 - NRT MATH Data, Statistics and Probability

T8 - NRT MATH Geometry and Measurement

As of June 27, 2005 -

-Added DIBELS test Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (T8,Attachments 1 and 2)

As of July 20, 2005 -

-Added Withdrawl codes W3A (Any PK-12 student who withdraws to attend a public school in another district in Florida) and W3B (Any PK-12 student who withdraws to attend another public school out-of-state)

As of August 11, 2005 -

-Changed FICE code for New College of FL from 001507 to 039574 in appx C.

-Modified edits in appx R to allow Master School ID activity codes of Future School and Temporarily Inactive, in addition to Active.

-Modified edits in appx R to allow score type OS for DIBELS test.

As of August 18, 2005 -

-Added new discipline incidents DRD and DRU. Removed DRG and MVT.

As of September 8, 2005 -

-Added AAR Alternative Assessment Report as a valid testname (T8 Attachments 1 and 2):

10 - AAR Reading

20 – AAR Math

50 - AAR Science

WT - AAR Writing

As of September 14, 2005 -

-Added Graduation Options (T1):

7 – Student with disabilities opting to remain in school after receiving a special diploma, certificate of completion or special certificate of completion with no intention of working toward a standard diploma.
