About Us
The Bureau of Accountability Reporting administers programs to meet public reporting requirements for school, district, and state accountability in the PK-12 sector of Florida’s PK-20 education system. The Bureau also assists in implementing the Commissioner of Education's strategic plan for education by conducting data and program analyses to assist decision-makers in crafting policy, directing practices, and preparing legislation to enhance education accountability and increase student performance. The Bureau’s core programs focus on calculating and reporting school grades and adequate yearly progress (AYP) for schools, districts, and the state in compliance with the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act (NCLB Act of 2001). The bureau also calculates school improvement ratings for alternative schools, updates school placement information for Differentiated Accountability, identifies schools eligible for Florida School Recognition awards, and supports other offices in the agency to address accountability information needs.
