Exceptional Student Education Parent Survey
Each year, the Florida Department of Education
(FDOE) conducts a survey designed to provide FDOE and the United States Department of Education (USDOE), Office of Special Education Programs
(OSEP), with information on how well Florida’s schools are supporting parents’ involvement in their child’s education. Florida uses the instruments developed by the National Center for Special Education and Accountability Measures
(NCSEAM). There are two instruments: one for parents of preschool children and one for parents of children in grades K-12.

Parent Survey Results
Survey results are reported to
USDOE, Office of Special Education Programs, as part of Florida’s Annual Performance Report. Copies of the Annual Performance Reports (statewide information) can be found at
http://www.fldoe.org/ese/.
Information about response rate and “met standard” for each district can be found in the local education agency (LEA) profiles. The data is included as Section 4 of each LEA profile. The LEA profiles are posted on the FDOE Web site at http://www.fldoe.org/ese/datapage.asp.
Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Parent Survey
The survey will be online from February 1, 2012 to June 30, 2012. The survey will be open to all parents of children with an individual educational plan (IEP) receiving ESE services from preschool age through grade 12. This survey is not intended for parents of students receiving only gifted services through an educational plan (EP). The online survey will be in English and Spanish.
