MarcoPolo Discovering Florida

MarcoPolo was created in 1997 and is available nationwide. The content is accessible at no cost to all who access the Internet, and MarcoPolo averages more than 400,000 user sessions a month. The WorldCom Foundation also has established partnerships with school districts and states to bring the MarcoPolo Professional Development Program to teachers across the country.

The rapid growth of the Internet brings exciting opportunities as well as many challenges for educators. Of critical concern to schools and teachers is the quality and credibility of Internet content, and the effective integration of the Internet into a standards-based curriculum.

MarcoGrams are valuable curriculum e-mail newsletters distributed monthly to MarcoPolo educators across the country. This MarcoPolo content tool features motivating warm-ups for classroom discussion and links to K-12 interdisciplinary lessons and resources from the MarcoPolo standards-based partner sites. We encourage you to share MarcoGrams with fellow educators either via e-mail or print and distribution methods. To receive MarcoGrams by e-mail each month, subscribe here.
