When an educator's misconduct is confirmed and is sufficient to warrant discipline against a certificate, a public school or district, charter school, Florida School for the Deaf and Blind or private school that accepts scholarship students under a Corporate Income Tax Credit Scholarship or a John M. McKay Scholarship is required to report the educator's misconduct to the Department of Education's Office of Professional Practices Services.

The Office of Professional Practices Services (PPS) reviews misconduct only for the purpose of determining if discipline against the educator's certificate is warranted. Matters requiring immediate action and matters of local control should be directed to the local school or district.
