Florida Building Code Requirements for Public Educational Facilities

Class Schedule

This course is an intense, in-depth presentation of the "State Requirements for Educational Facilities" and "Florida Building Code 2004" requirements for construction of new public educational facilities. This training covers all aspects of construction for public educational facilities: administration, budgeting, selection of design professionals, educational programs, life and fire safety, exiting, ADA, document review, delivery systems, field inspections, mechanical, plumbing, gas, electrical, and hurricane shelter requirements. This course is offered to individuals who deal with public education construction and provides continuing education credits for the renewal of licensure for architects, engineers, contractors, building code officials, and limited licensed inspectors. Local building department inspectors who wish to perform inspections for public educational facilities are required to be certified in this course.

The Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are awarded as follows: 23 hours for the CILB and DBPR Architects, Engineers, Inspectors, Plans Examiner, and Building Officials. DBPR approved sponsor number is #0001023. The Florida Board of Professional Engineers continuing education provider number is #51.
