Administrative Rule 6A-4.0233

Specialization Requirements for Certification in the Area of Middle Grades Integrated Curriculum (Grades 5-9)--Academic Class.

(1) A bachelor's or higher degree with a degree major in middle grades education which includes a minimum of twelve (12) semester hours in each of the following areas: English, mathematics, science, and social science, or

(2) A bachelor's or higher degree with a degree major in a subject other than middle grades education and fifty-four (54) semesters hours in English, mathematics, science, and social science. Eighteen (18) semester hours shall be completed in one of the four (4) subject areas. These eighteen (18) hours shall be the same as those required for middle school certification in that area. At least twelve (12) semester hours shall be completed in each of the remaining subject areas.
