Production Control/Data Entry
- It is primarily responsible for:
- Scheduling productions jobs (daily, weekly, monthly, on request)
to run on the NWRDC mainframe using CONTROL-M and REXX as requested
by clients;
- Reviewing printed output for quality and completeness (quality
control) and distributing output to clients;
- Ensuring all production abends are reported and cleared;
- Managing the production control libraries. (This includes the
reviewing and promoting of jobs from development to production as
requested by the programming sections.);
- Logging in source documents for assignment to the Data Entry or
Operations staff. (This enables this Section to act as the entry
and exit point for all production processing.);
- Managing the offsite storage of backup media stored at the Department
of State’s archive storage facility;
- Managing an onsite magnetic storage facility;
- Providing key to disk services. (This involves keying data from
the client’s source documents and storing to media accessible by
the client.
