Welcome to Florida's College Goal Sunday Site

You know that a college education is a valuable tool, but if you're like most people, you're probably wondering how you're going to pay for it.

College Goal Sunday is a program that provides Financial Aid assistance at no cost to new and returning college students.

'Get Yours' . . . it starts with the FAFSA

If you're looking for Financial Aid, the majority of colleges, universities, and even vocational schools will require you to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (or FAFSA). Completing the FAFSA can seem overwhelming, but College Goal Sunday can help. At College Goal Sunday, students get the opportunity to work on their FAFSA application with experienced Financial Aid administrators.

PIN Information

  • The Personal Identification Number (PIN) serves as your electronic signature and provides access to your personal information in various U.S. Department of Education systems. It's like the Personal Identification Number (PIN) that you get from your bank that enables you to access your account. Anyone-including parents of dependent students-who has a valid Social Security Number and is a U.S. Citizen or eligible non-citizen may apply for a PIN. Because you can use your PIN to sign your financial aid documents, you should keep it in a safe place. Do not give or entrust it to anyone, even if that person or organization is helping you fill out your FAFSA.

Each year that you apply for financial aid you can use your PIN to access and electronically sign your FAFSA. You and your parents do not need to apply for a new PIN from one year to the next. The PIN stays the same. If you, or your parents, do not have a PIN, we encourage you to apply for one now. You can apply at the U.S. Department of Education's PIN site, www.pin.ed.gov, by selecting Apply for a PIN.

The counselors at College Goal Sunday volunteer their time to help make your FAFSA experience as painless as possible. If you have any disability needs, please contact your local coordinator.

Thank you to our 2007 volunteers and supporters:

At 49 locations across the state, college-bound students and their families met with financial aid experts to get one-on-one help completing the FAFSA. More than 4600 students and families showed up for College Goal Sunday. Students were walked through the financial aid process, removing language barriers and daunting paperwork that keep students from completing the FAFSA accurately and on time. In addition to receiving financial aid help, students attending College Goal Sunday were eligible for on-the-spot scholarships.
