Pierson SUBJECT: Defective Sprinkler Heads The Consumer Products Safety Commission has issued a recall of over 30 million sprinkler heads used in offices, homes, and schools (see attached article from USA Today). The recall covers more than 30 million GB model sprinkler heads manufactured by Central Sprinkler. The problem in these heads is an O-ring that has been found to corrode, presenting the possibility of failure to operate during a fire. Underwriters Laboratories (UL) has cited at least two fires during which the GB sprinkler heads had failed. Please take this information and use it accordingly. WVP/jvi Attachment
