Title I, Part A Local Educational Agency Improvement
The FLDOE monitors LEAs progress in meeting student achievement goals. If an LEA does not meet their goals for all schools and students for two years, it is identified as in need of improvement. If, after another year, an LEA fails to meet its goals, it is identified for or corrective action.
When an LEAs enters corrective action, the FLDOE makes it give a part of its funds to provide services to low-performing students in Title I schools.
The FLDOE is required to notify parents of each LEA identified as in need of improvement or corrective action.
