Susan Story
Susan Story is President and CEO of Gulf Power Company, which is a subsidiary of Southern Company, one of the largest producers of electricity in the United States. Gulf Power Company is headquartered in Pensacola and provides electricity and energy services in Northwest Florida.
Ms. Story joined Southern Company in 1982 as a nuclear power plant engineer, and has served in a number of capacities including Executive Vice-President of Southern Company Engineering and Construction Services, Vice-President of Southern Company Supply Chain Management and Vice-President of Real Estate and Corporate Services at Alabama Power Company.
Ms. Story currently serves as the Chair of the Florida Council of 100, and is the Immediate Past Chair of Florida Chamber of Commerce.
In 2010, Ms. Story was inducted to the state of Alabama Engineering Hall of Fame, and was also honored as the 2010 Woman of the Year Diamond Award Honoree by the Girl Scouts Council of the Florida Panhandle. In 2009, she was recognized as the Pensacola Business Journal’s Woman Business Leader of the Year.
She has a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from Auburn University and an MBA from the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
