Recipes and Taste Testing Lessons Using Fresh Fruit and Vegetables
- Cooking with Kids - All lessons are available for grades K-5 in English and Spanish with lesson plans, food information, and activities.

- Dairy Council of California - Free downloadable lesson plans and classroom cooking activities. Offers both cook and non-cook recipes.
- Extreme Cuisine Activity Booklet (PDF) - This activity booklet will help you learn how to make fun and nutritious snacks.
- Extreme Cuisine Cookbook (PDF) - This cookbook contains cool kitchen tips and healthy recipes.
- Harvest of the Month - provides materials and resources to support healthy food choices through increased access and consumption of fruits and vegetables as well as encourage daily physical activity.
- Kids Kitchen Cookbook (PDF)- Kids learn the most important cooking skill—safety—while making healthy foods!
- Potato Salad (PDF)– Students will be able to understand that a potato is a tuber or swollen stem that grows underground. They will also be able to compare the taste, smell, texture, and appearance of two different potato salad recipes.
- Roasted Potatoes with Herbs (PDF) – Students will be able to use their senses to observe different aspects of a variety of potatoes. They will record observations and write comparisons in their journals.
- Smart-Mouth.org - A fun, interactive site to help children learn about nutrition. There are quick facts (called "Snacktoids"), recipes, articles, video clips, and games — all designed to promote healthy eating habits.
- Strawberry Shortcake (PDF) – Students will be able to demonstrate a working understanding of the following words: “cutting butter into flour,” preheat, bake, and whip. They will also be able to prepare a recipe that involves baking.
