Notes:
- Grades tested are 4, 8, and 12 unless otherwise indicated, except that long-term trend assessments sample students at ages 9, 13, and 17 and are conducted in reading and mathematics.
- In 2009, 12th grade assessments in reading and mathematics at the state level were conducted as a pilot in 11 volunteering states.
- The Governing Board intends to conduct assessments at the 12th grade in World History and Foreign Language during the assessment period 2018-2022.
- Subjects with an * indicate new framework for grade 12 only
- Subjects with an ** indicate assessments involving test administration by computer.
- Subjects with an † indicate the year in which a new framework is implemented or assessment year for which the Board will decide whether a new or updated framework is needed.
