About Us

The Office of Assessment provides a wide range of testing services to Florida schools, school districts, community colleges, universities, and students, including testing of students, teachers, and principals. The mission of the Office of Assessment is to develop and/or purchase valid and reliable assessment instruments, to administer these assessments under standardized and secure conditions, and to score and report the results of these assessments accurately, efficiently, and effectively given the constraints of available resources. Office staff members are dedicated to accomplishing this mission through specializing in two main areas of assessment: K-12 student assessments and postsecondary assessments. The work of each area must satisfy both Florida and Federal regulations, including the requirements of Florida's school accountability laws and the requirements of the Federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA).
