2006-07 Workforce Development Information System (WDIS) Database Handbook

INTRODUCTION:

The District WDIS Database Handbook is for use by the school districts, and offers guidance on the reporting of adult general education and postsecondary vocational education student data in the Workforce Development Information System (WDIS).

WHAT IS WDIS?

WDIS [Workforce Development Information System] is the Workforce Development reporting system and uses five reporting formats. Each format contains specific data elements required for gathering student and teacher data.

Secondary students are reported in WDIS when they are co-enrolled in the adult general education program. Secondary vocational education students are reported in the K-12 reporting system.

Edit 23 for the Student Demographic format has been corrected to delete reference to Prior Year.

AGE Student Course: Edit 13 for the Distance Learning Delivery Indicator data element been marked as deleted. That data element was previously moved to the End Term Status format.

AGE Student Course: Edit 72 has been marked deleted. It was previously modified and renumbered exception edit 83.Edit 34 has been updated to include the code for Pre-Vocational Preparatory Instruction, S990000.

Appendix S has been updated to indicate that the hours for Law Enforcement, program code P430105, has been increased to 770 hours from 760 hours.
