2009-10 Secondary Vocational Database Handbook

Introduction:

The Secondary Vocational Database Handbook is for use by the school districts, and offers guidance on the reporting of vocational education student data during Survey 5. It includes secondary vocational data elements, associated notes, reporting formats, edits, timelines, and supporting appendices.

WHAT IS WDIS?

WDIS [Workforce Development Information System] is the school district Workforce Development reporting system for postsecondary. It uses six reporting formats. Each format contains specific data elements required for gathering student and teacher data.

Secondary vocational education students are reported in the K-12 reporting system. However, Secondary students are also reported in WDIS when they are co-enrolled in an adult general education program or when dually enrolled in a postsecondary vocational program.
