About Us

The Office of Accountability and Policy Research provides information on the educational performance of Florida's schools to inform policy decisions and the public. The Office performs research analyses on the performance of Florida's schools and districts to help identify areas needing improvement and areas of progress towards Florida's education goals. The office includes the Bureau of Accountability Reporting, which administers accountability programs such as school grades, AYP determinations, alternative schools' improvement ratings, determinations of schools' differentiated accountability status, and identification of Opportunity Scholarship schools. The office also provides policy research to answer questions and inform education policy decisions using the data maintained by the Division of Accountability, Research and Measurement. The office conducts research as directed by the Commissioner and the State Board of Education.
