About Us

The Office of Accountability and Policy Research provides information on the educational performance of Florida's schools to inform policy decisions and the public. The office includes the Bureau of Accountability Reporting, which administers accountability programs such as school grades, federal accountability calculations, alternative schools' improvement ratings, and the identification of the low 300 elementary schools. The office also includes a team that is responsible for the department's teacher value added calculations and teacher related analyses. A third team is responsible for developing and publishing on the web site aggregated reports on education in Florida. The office also provides research to answer questions and inform education policy decisions using the data maintained by the Division of Accountability, Research and Measurement. The office conducts research as directed by the Commissioner and the State Board of Education.
