Academy and Career-Themed Course Registration


School districts are annually required to register career-themed courses offered in secondary school as well as high school and middle school career and professional academies. Industry certifications earned in career-themed courses are eligible for additional full-time equivalent (FTE) membership in the FEFP calculation.

Under current rules, the following windows for academies and career themed courses are required:

High School Career and Professional Academies

  • Annual Registration Window:  Mid-August to Mid-September
  • 2016-17 Registration is open August 15 – September 14, 2016
  • Appendix Y of the annual Student Information System database manual lists all registered academies

Middle School Career and Professional Academies

  • Annual Registration Window: Mid-September to Mid-October
  • 2016-17 Registration is open September 16 – October 12, 2016
  • Appendix Y of the annual Student Information System database manual lists all registered academies

Career-themed Courses

  • Annual Registration Windows: Mid-October to November, February and Early-August
  • 2015-16 Registration is open August 1-10, 2016
  • 2016-17 Registration is open October 16 – November 30, 2016; February 1 – March 1, 2017; and August 1-10, 2017
  • Appendix FF of the annual Student Information System database manual lists all registered career-themed courses
