For 15 years Bill Daniel has educated students to become aware consumers with strong financial literacy. Daniel has won several awards for his dedication and now a new one has come from the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America.

Daniel was selected as the 2012 InVEST Teacher of the Year. InVEST is a program which promotes understanding of the insurance industry preparing thousands of students for insurance-related careers annually. At the high school level, InVEST uses a hands-on curriculum which simulates an insurance agency to prepare students to become more knowledgeable about selecting insurance as well as career preparation. Daniel has taught for more than 20 years and is a big hit among students in his many financial literacy programs.

"Great teachers who trail blaze InVEST programs, like Bill Daniel, are the backbone of this wonderful program," said Heather Minkler, chair of the National InVEST board of directors. Daniel was given his national award In St. Petersburg.
