Florida Virtual School Receives 21st Century Award for Best Practices in Distance Learning
Florida Virtual School (FLVS) joined other education leaders at the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) 2009 National Conference in St. Louis, MO, where they were honored with the 21st Century Award for Best Practices in Distance Learning. This is the fifth time the program has been recognized by USDLA in the past nine years.
Given annually by the USDLA, these prestigious awards acknowledge organizations and individuals engaged in the development and delivery of distance learning programs. The Awards highlight those distance learning instructors, programs, and professionals who have achieved and demonstrated extraordinary results through the use of online, videoconferencing, satellite and blended learning delivery technologies.
FLVS was honored with the 21st Century Award for Best Practices in Distance Learning in both 2007 and 2005; the Excellence in Distance Programming award in 2003, 2002 and 2000. Additionally, a number of individual teachers and administrators have received awards from the organization for exemplary teaching in the field of distance learning.
