National Foundation To Award Grants to Outstanding Music Programs

Two Florida schools will soon be awarded grants to support their music programs. Sabal Elementary in Melbourne, Fla., and Golden Gate Middle School in Naples, Fla., will receive new and refurbished musical instruments from Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation. The Foundation helps under-served schools, community music programs and individual students nationwide, in an effort to give youngsters the many benefits of music education, help them to be better students and inspire creativity and expression through playing music.

In the last 12 years, new and refurbished instruments with a value of approximately $5 million have been donated to more than 852 school and community music programs across the country. More information can be found at www.mhopus.org.
