Superintendent Recognized For Economic Development
The Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission (EDC) selected Orange County Superintendent Ronald Blocker as this yearís winner of the EDC Chairmanís Award. The superintendent is a member of the Board of Directors of the EDC and has been since 2000.
The EDC recognizes the Chairmanís Award winner as an individual who has contributed substantially to the work of the EDC. The EDC recognized Mr. Blocker for his contributions to the successful attraction of the Burnham Institute to Metro Orlando, as well as championing the development of magnet and technical programs which support the local workforce.
