Escambia County Junior Wins National Silver Medal

Barrett White, a junior at Washington High School in Escambia County, was recently recognized at the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards at Carnegie Hall in New York City. His writing entry in the poetry category was awarded a national silver medal and placed in the top one percent of more than 100,000 judged artworks and manuscripts.

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards was founded in 1923 to support aspiring young artists and writers. For more information, visit www.artandwriting.org.
