Indian River Community College Wins Award From National Group
Indian River Community College (IRCC) has won recognition from a national education group for its successful efforts to enhance the college's culture to foster change.
The first-place award from the National Council of Instructional Administrators recognizes outstanding ways to enhance the quality of higher education at two-year institutions in the United States.
The entry, "Sustainable Change — It's About the Culture," was submitted by Christina Hart, an associate vice president at IRCC.
While in Philadelphia recently to accept the award on behalf of the college, IRCC President Edwin R. Massey received additional recognition when he was given the Shirley B. Gordon Phi Theta Kappa Leadership Award from the international honor society.
The award is given annually for administrators who have provided extensive support for their colleges' Phi Theta Kappa chapters, including scholarships for the honor society's members.
